DIRECTOR - Steve Marsh
Steve Marsh is a director, playwright and actor who served on the Drama Desk Awards nominating committee during the 2014-15 New York theatre season. He holds an MFA in Dramaturgy from Stony Brook University, and a BFA in Acting from NYU, where he studied with famed acting teacher Lee Strasberg. He was Director of the Graduate Program in Dramaturgy at Stony Brook for 9 years and a long-time associate of the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science teaching improvisation to enhance the communication skills of scientists. He taught improv workshops at major universities and science organizations throughout the USA. Recent directing credits include “Zoomed” presentations of Bird at the Window by Barbara Kelly and three prize-winning plays from the Science Playwriting Competition at the Simons Center on Long Island. Recent fully-staged productions include A Number by Caryl Churchill, Life of Galileo by Berthold Brecht, QED by Peter Parnell, The Lesson and The Bald Soprano by Eugene Ionesco and Small Mouth Sounds by Bess Wohl. His new publication of Monologues from the Edge, from Applause Theatre and Cinema Books, was just released this year.
